Masjid e Aisha, commonly referred to as Masjid e Taneem or Taneem Mosque, is a well-known location for travelers doing the Umrah and Hajj pilgrimages. It is named after Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, who performed her Umrah pilgrimage while menstruation by entering Ihram in this mosque.

The Prophet gave her the go-ahead to perform Hajj and all other pilgrimage rituals and duties except Tawaf. She followed the directions and didn’t finish Tawaf until her period was through.

The Prophet then instructed her brother to drive her to Taneem. She then continued with her Umrah pilgrimage in the Islamic calendar month of Dhul Hijjah, which is the twelfth month.
