Masjid Quba is one of the most well-liked mosques among Muslims due to its historical significance. It is an important location for both city visitors and pilgrims performing the Hajj and Umrah.

The mosque was constructed about 6 kilometers from the Quba hamlet on the borders of Madinah. It is said to be one of the first mosques in Islamic history and dates to the 7th century. Its name was designated for its location in the Quba village. The first Friday ‘Namaz’ ever in Islam was held in this mosque. Around this revered mosque in Madinah, the Hajj is conducted.

Upon his return from Makkah, the Prophet Muhammad placed the first stones in this mosque. Every Saturday, the Prophet is said to have traveled to the Quba mosque on his camel or on foot to read two Rakats of Salah. Therefore, it is claimed that anyone who reads Namaz in this sacred place will receive the same blessings as someone who performs an Umrah.

The mosque has only ever undergone one complete demolition and rebuilding. The Quba mosque had its most recent construction in 1986. The contemporary building features three central cooling units, cutting-edge amenities, and enough space to accommodate more than 20,000 worshipers.

– The mosque is surrounded by 56 miniature domes and features seven main doors, twelve side entrances, and four parallel minarets.

– The minarets are built on square bases with octagonal shafts, which come together to form a circle as they rise.
